About Linda

Linda Morgan has a diverse practice that focuses primarily on patent drafting and prosecution for clients in the energy, oilfield, construction and chemical processing industries. Linda has experience in patent subject matter that includes mechanical, chemical, and electrical arts, particularly in the areas of oil and gas drilling equipment, well completion and intervention technologies, artificial lift systems, cement compositions, and reservoir imaging.

Linda also has experience in advising on the protection of intellectual property assets. She offers clients a unique perspective having previously worked in the legal department of an energy company and in the intellectual property group of an engineering company that provided oil and gas exploration and production design services, where she had previously worked as a design engineer. Linda holds a professional engineering license in California in mechanical engineering.

As part of her intellectual property practice, Linda consults on various technology-based transactions such as licensing and joint development agreements in the software, e-commerce, energy, and telecommunications industries. Linda represents commercial clients in corporate matters including corporate acquisitions and mergers, divestitures, co-investments, buy-sell agreements, due diligence and risk analysis, and the formation and maintenance of business entities. She also counsels private equity firms and other strategic investment funds in the purchase and sale of companies and assets.
