Bracewell Gets Ex-Deloitte, Alliantgroup Atty for Its Tax Group

Bracewell’s Jennifer Speck recently gave comments to Law360 about joining the firm and her move to private practice.

“When I made the move to Navigator CO2, Bracewell was our outside counsel, so I was very familiar with the firm and their great tax team,” she said. “When interviewing at Bracewell, I began to better understand the depth of the practice areas here, and that was really important to me – the depth of the bench and the expertise. I fully understand you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with. I couldn’t be happier with the colleagues that I’m working alongside now.”

Speck told Law360 that the move to private practice wasn’t one she would have envisioned 10 years ago as she was happy with her prior work. However, as she started to develop a wider skill set at Navigator and a project there was put on hold, she realized she would have regrets if she “didn’t explore what it would be like to go ahead and transition to a law firm.”

“And now is the right time for me,” she said.

Speck has experience working on a variety of energy transition projects, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, carbon capture, clean hydrogen and clean fuel projects.

“I have worked with Bracewell for several years and can easily say that the firm is unsurpassed in its knowledge of the issues facing the energy industry,” Speck said. “I look forward to working with my new partners in helping the firm’s clients meet their energy transition goals.”
