Houston Business Journal Honors Kate Day as a 2019 Woman Who Means Business

HOUSTON – The Houston Business Journal honored Bracewell LLP’s Kate H. Day as one of its 2019 Women Who Mean Business. Day is one of only eight individuals recognized this year in the Outstanding Leaders in Law category.

A highly regarded lawyer in the energy finance community, Day advises many of the nation’s leading financial institutions, including Citibank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, as well as foreign banks and energy companies. Within the last 12 months, she has led multiple highly successful all-women deal teams that closed complex, multibillion dollar financings across the energy sector, including financings for three of the five global offshore drilling companies known as the “big five”: Ensco, Rowan and Diamond Offshore Drilling.

In addition, Day is a member of Bracewell’s six-person elected management committee.

HBJ and its panel of judges recognized 65 Houston women business leaders based on their achievements, contribution to company and city success, community involvement and leadership.

Previous Bracewell winners include Constance Gall Rhebergen, who chairs the firm’s technology and intellectual property section.

This year’s honorees will be recognized on October 3 at an awards reception at the Marriott Marquis Houston.
