Conjuring up reflections of the ancient Silk Road, BRI is considered one of China’s most significant foreign and trade policies in the modern era. BRI investments have the potential to open new markets to various Chinese exporters in energy, construction, rail, port and technology. Because of their cross-border nature, Pang notes, these projects and transactions are “inevitably more complex due to regulatory, business landscape and language differences.”
