Turnaround Management Association Recognizes Bracewell Restructuring Deal as 2018 Transaction of the Year: Mid-Size Company

New York (September 20, 2018) – Turnaround Management Association recognized Bracewell LLP’s role as lead bankruptcy counsel to Eastern Outfitters, LLC in its Chapter 11 proceedings in honoring the deal as the 2018 Transaction of the Year: Mid-Size Company. The Bracewell team assisted Eastern Outfitters in securing a stalking horse bid and consummating a sale of Eastern Outfitters assets under Section 363 of the US Bankruptcy Code to SportsDirect.com Retail Ltd. (SportsDirect), the UK’s largest sporting goods retailer. The acquired businesses included approximately 50 retail stores in the United States under the Bob’s Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports names, as well as numerous e-commerce sites.
