Webinar: Sanctions and Export Controls

Bracewell hosted a discussion with a senior Department of Commerce enforcement official who discussed the significance of the new Russian sanctions to American industry and financial institutions, and explained how the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the Arms Export Control Act apply to the current situation.


Our distinguished panel included Robert Dugan, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Export Enforcement, Miami Field Office, including one that involved exporting micro circuits to Russia and another that involved a Chinese tech giant. He now runs the NY field office of the Department of Commerce office of enforcement. Seth DuCharme, the former Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General of the United States, now a partner in Bracewell’s Government Enforcement and Investigations Group. Matthew Nielsen, a partner and co-host of the Bracewell Sidebar, a podcast devoted to government enforcement and investigations with a focus on white-collar criminal defense.
