Bracewell’s Dallas Office Receives “Gold Award” for Outstanding Pro Bono Work

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP’s Dallas office received the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program’s (DVAP) Gold Award for its outstanding commitment to pro bono work in 2012. The Gold Award was the highest honor given to a law firm office with 50 lawyers or less that accepted and closed the most pro bono cases in 2012.

Bracewell’s Dallas attorneys and paralegals collectively completed 1,055 hours of pro bono service between June 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012.  Examples of some of Bracewell’s pro bono work for clients included drafting wills and estate planning documents, handling family law cases, resolving landlord/tenant disputes, serving veterans with various legal issues, assisting debtors in consumer bankruptcy and drafting guardianships for minors and disabled adults.

DVAP, a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, provides free legal services to those citizens of Dallas County, Texas living at or below poverty level.  DVAP focuses on recruitment, training, and supporting volunteer attorneys who donate legal services to income-eligible clients.  Bracewell & Giuliani is a proud supporter of DVAP.
