
About Onis
Onis Chukwueke-Uba focuses her practice on energy project development and project finance, with a particular focus on African and emerging market transactions. Onis has experience representing lenders and sponsors on multi-jurisdictional reserve-based lending, project finance and acquisition finance involving oil and gas, renewable energy and power assets.
Prior to joining Bracewell, Onis was a legal secondee in the downstream team at bp, working on corporate and commercial matters across bp’s aviation, lubricants, petrochemicals and gas businesses.

Neom Residential Communities, Wave 1 — advising lenders to the Tamasuk-led consortium regarding its successful tender for and winning of two out of six construction villages at NEOM
Lekela Power — acting for Mauritius Commercial Bank and ABSA Bank as arrangers, bookrunners and structuring banks for the multi-currency, structurally subordinated holdco financings to a consortium led by Infinity Power and AFC for the acquisition of Lekela Power and its $2 billion pan-African portfolio of renewable energy projects from Actis, a leading emerging markets private equity firm
Fotowatio Renewable Ventures — limited recourse project financing of the 34 MW Contego and 99 MW Clay Tye battery energy storage projects in the United Kingdom
Lender — $300 million prepayment agreement in connection with the forward sale of crude oil in Nigeria
Indigenous Nigerian Borrower — $300 million senior secured facility agreement with a multi-lateral bank
Eland Oil & Gas Plc — finance and refinance of debt facility including converting a term loan facility into a reserved based facility of up to $200 million through an accordion option, arranged by Stanbic IBTC Capital and The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd and supported by reserves from its interest in OML (Oil Mining Lease) 40
