Nicole Boeckmann is a skilled trial lawyer having joined Bracewell after a 20-year career at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York where she held several leadership positions including First Assistant United States Attorney, Acting Chief of the Criminal Division and Chief of the Long Island Division. She represents companies and individuals in complex criminal, regulatory and civil investigations throughout the United States, drawing on her extensive experience participating in more than 30 trials.
Nicole served in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York from 2004 through 2024, where she handled a wide variety of federal criminal and civil investigations including securities fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, FCPA, public corruption, health care fraud, False Claims Act, national security, cybercrime and export controls matters. In her various leadership roles at the US Attorney’s Office, Nicole supervised some of the Department’s most significant cases, a deferred prosecution agreement for a major financial institution for an international bribery scheme; the indictment of a Congressman for fraud violations; a $10 million settlement with a radiology company for health care fraud and violations of the False Claims Act; the RICO prosecution of a high profile rap artist; a deferred prosecution agreement for a global building materials manufacturer for material support to a terrorist organization; the prosecution and conviction of the CEO and CFO of a body armor company for a wire fraud conspiracy, including an accounting fraud and insider trading; and the prosecution and conviction of a sitting District Attorney for obstruction of justice in connection with a civil rights investigation. She successfully prosecuted, briefed and served as the lead attorney for 10 jury trials and argued multiple appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
From 1997 to 2004, Nicole was an Assistant District Attorney for the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled all aspects of criminal prosecutions from investigation through trial. She tried 25 jury trials to verdict, including murder, attempted murder, assault, rape, robbery, burglary, weapons possessions and narcotics offenses. Nicole was also in the Sex Crimes Unit and has extensive experience working with victims of sexual assault.
Nicole is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, where she teaches criminal procedure investigations. She served as a legal intern to the Honorable Stanley S. Harris in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia prior to joining the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
