Jay Harper is a transactional lawyer who represents and counsels both public and private clients in a variety of midstream and upstream oil and gas transactions. Jay regularly represents clients in the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties, including mineral interests, as well as a broad range of operational matters, such as gathering and transportation agreements; connection and dedication agreements; farmout and participation agreements; joint operating agreements; exchange agreements; surface use agreements; produced water and salt water disposal projects; projects for gas sequestration; and drilling and development projects.
During law school, Jay served as a judicial intern to Justice Bill Whitehill in the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas. He also was the articles editor for the SMU Law Review Association.
