Trump Makes Election Day Play With Fracking Order

Scott Segal, who co-chairs Bracewell’s Policy Resolution Group, told Law360 that like most executive orders, the fracking memorandum can’t change any limitations imposed by laws, other levels of government or the courts.

“Since those are the major governmental impediments to energy projects of any sort, it is not clear exactly what the effect of the executive order would be on hydraulic fracturing and shale development,” said Segal. “That said, it does place the administration again on record firmly in favor of the shale oil and gas revolution.”
