Lekela Power B.V. Acquisition Financing Wins Transaction of the Year at 2023 IJInvestor Awards

LONDON – Bracewell (UK) LLP was among the law firms recognized for its role in Infinity Renewables Energy B.V.’s acquisition financing of Lekela Power B.V., which won Transaction of the Year in the “Renewables Acquisition – Africa” category at the 2023 IJInvestor Awards. The program celebrates the excellence of companies, deals and individuals in funds and M&A activity in the global energy and infrastructure markets. 

Led by partners Tom Jamieson and Gordon Stewart, Bracewell advised the lenders on the acquisition financing, which was part of the largest M&A transaction for a portfolio of operating renewable assets across Africa. The award-winning transaction is also notable because it combined project, acquisition and structurally subordinated HoldCo finance structures with South African rand and dollar-denominated debt and a portfolio of companies and assets located in South Africa, Egypt, Senegal, Mauritius and the Netherlands.
