WASHINGTON, DC – Bracewell LLP represented Invenergy and energyRe, as project sponsors, in forming a consortium of investors that secured one of six leases in the New York Bight offshore wind auction, which closed on February 25, 2022. Invenergy Wind Offshore LLC’s $645 million bid was selected as the provisional winner for lease OCS-A-542, consisting of an 83,976-acre lease area, one of largest awarded by the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in the New York Bight auction.
The consortium of investors that will fund the project includes, along with the project sponsors, Blackstone Infrastructure Partners, CDPQ, FirstLight Power and Ullico Infrastructure Fund. The project sponsors bring together decades of expertise in development, engineering, and construction of large-scale renewable generation projects.
