7 Energy Trade Issues Facing The Biden Administration

Bracewell’s Josh Zive expressed to Law360 reporter Keith Goldberg that pressure on President Joe Biden to undo solar tariffs enacted by former President Donald Trump is testing the patience of energy companies.

“You can’t turn this ship on a dime,” said Zive. “But at the same time, I think we’re reaching a point where folks are getting a little bit antsy and ready to see at least some moves in the right direction on [previous] policies that were almost unanimously understood as not a good idea.”

Solar energy industry groups are pressing the Biden administration to unwind tariffs imposed on China and other solar equipment manufacturing nations by his predecessor, while the White House is under pressure to resolve a trade secrets fight between battery manufacturers that carries major implications for US electric vehicle development.
