HOUSTON – Bracewell LLP appellate litigator Warren W. Harris has won the Texas Center for Legal Ethics’ Chief Justice Jack Pope Professionalism Award, presented annually to an appellate lawyer or judge who epitomizes the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Harris, who has successfully argued hundreds of appeals, also serves as appellate counsel in major trials to provide strategic advice, preserve error, argue jury charges and handle post-verdict motions. He is past president of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society.
The award honors one of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics’ three founders, former Chief Justice Jack Pope, who was the recipient of the inaugural award in 2009. Chief Justice Nathan Hecht presented the award at the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society Hemphill Dinner on Friday, September 6, 2024.
The Texas Center for Legal Ethics was created in 1989 as an independent, non-profit corporation to promote the values contained in the Texas Lawyers’ Creed.
