Bracewell’s Scott Segal commented to Inside EPA on President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of Chris Wright to lead the Department of Energy.
Segal noted that Wright, who is the head of oilfield services firm Liberty Energy, appears to support “a full range of energy sources, including the deployment of the newest technologies to improve the efficiency of oil and gas production.” Segal added, “Rather than opposing renewables, he seems to have cautioned against relying solely on any one source of energy.”
Wright’s selection is seen as another indication of the Trump administration’s energy and environment agenda being heavily influence by oil and gas interests.
