Former President Donald Trump is expected to make a swift deregulatory push starting on Day One if he returns to the White House.

Bracewell’s Jeff Holmstead told E&E News that he thinks the Trump administration’s “first order of business will be to undo or substantially water down a lot of the Biden actions that have happened over the last four years.”

Holmstead also noted that Trump “can say anything he wants in an executive order, but people can’t break the law to try to implement it” as the president does not have the power to wipe away federal regulations through an executive order.
