Bracewell’s Josh Zive addressed with the Houston Chronicle the likely outcome if President Donald Trump imposes an across-the-board 25 percent tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada beginning February 1.
“Given how economically devastating those tariffs would be, particularly to the energy sector, I remain very skeptical about an all-inclusive 25 percent tariff,” said Zive.
Zive added that Trump’s larger agenda will more likely be targeted tariffs, such as one on Mexican auto parts, which, in theory, could bring more manufacturing jobs to the United States.
