Kyle Spencer joined Bracewell’s Policy Resolution Group on May 1 as a principal in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Spencer most recently served as policy advisor at the American Petroleum Institute, one of the largest US trade associations for the energy industry with nearly 600 member corporations.
Spencer told Law360 Pulse that he was drawn to the firm because of its strength in the energy field and the people, adding that he made the move back to private practice with a goal of diversifying his knowledge and client portfolio.
“Overall, it was their sterling reputation in DC for delivering results to clients especially in the energy space,” he said. “Beyond that, once I got to meet the partners and my now-colleagues, I learned that they were part of a very welcoming group of very esteemed professionals I’m excited to both work with and learn from.”
Spencer will provide federal legislative and regulatory advice to Bracewell’s clients on a broad range of energy, environmental and other policy matters.
