HOUSTONBracewell LLP’s litigation prowess in Texas has been recognized at the 2024 Texas Legal Awards as the firm has been named a finalist for Litigation Department of the Year in the General Litigation category. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on October 15 at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas.

Bracewell, which won a Texas Lawyer Litigation Department of the Year award in 2017, is recognized for achieving several significant victories at the trial and appellate levels for market-leading entities since the start of 2023. Notably, the firm has been a leader in litigation arising from Winter Storm Uri, which wreaked havoc on the Texas utility markets in 2020. In one of the most significant commercial disputes arising in the aftermath of the storm, Bracewell helped Chevron secure summary judgment dismissing an $85 million claim made by LNG Americas in April 2023. In addition, our appellate team won a landmark case – G.G. et al. v. Salesforce.com Inc. – in which Bracewell represented a sex-trafficking victim and her mother in a successful challenge to Salesforce’s claimed immunity under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

The Texas Legal Awards are presented annually by ALM Media’s Texas Lawyer and highlight the outstanding work and achievements across the full breadth of the state’s legal community.
