Bracewell’s Dean Hinderliter recently spoke with Texas Lawyer on joining the firm and what drew him to Bracewell.
Hinderliter said he was attracted to Bracewell because it has been focused on the energy industry for decades.
“There are a lot of firms trying to grow their energy practices in Texas. I was looking for a firm that already had strong roots and was focused on growth,” he said.
Hinderliter added that his work has been primarily in the traditional tax practice, but he expects client demand will move him into the energy tax credit area.
“That’s a growth area. Subject to the political winds, the credits are in place for a certain number of years until the early 2030s,” he said.
