DALLAS – Bill Mahomes, of counsel in Bracewell LLP’s Dallas office, has been elected chairman of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. Mahomes has served on various corporate and civic boards throughout his career, including his current roles on Vista Bank’s board of directors and the advisory board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. He was appointed to the Texas A&M Board of Regents in 2015 and reappointed in 2021, serving two years as vice chairman before his election to chairman.
The Texas A&M University System is one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a budget of $7.2 billion. Through a statewide network of 11 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies and the RELLIS Campus, the Texas A&M System educates more than 152,000 students and makes more than 24 million additional educational contacts through service and outreach programs each year.
