Yasmin Nelson Nominated for Two Women in Government Relations Excellence in Advocacy Awards
WASHINGTON, DC – Yasmin Nelson, a senior principal in Bracewell LLP's Policy Resolution Group, has been nominated for two 2022 Women in Government Relations’ Excellence in Advocacy Awards: Advocate on the Rise and Women Serving Women Campaign.
Nelson, who before joining Bracewell was the senior policy advisor to then-Senator and current United States Vice President Kamala D. Harris, is a senior political and policy executive who has worked on presidential and federal campaigns, and in the United States Congress. She is a co-host of Madam Policy, a podcast by and about women shaping policy and creating history.
Nelson is an award-winning commentator, social advocate, strategic advisor and influential leader in policy and politics. She has led or co-led a number of initiatives aimed at helping women, including her work with Mothering Justice and its launch of the Congressional Mamas’ Caucus, a newly formed, multi-racial congressional caucus that advocates for mothers of color and their families.
Finalists will be announced the week of September 26, and winners will be announced at an awards reception on October 3.
