Rising Star: Bracewell's Austin Lee
Law360 recently honored Bracewell’s Austin Lee as a Rising Star in Energy for 2018. Lee is one of only five energy lawyers under age 40 recognized for outstanding leadership. He was honored for the central role he has played in some of the firm’s most high-profile transactions in the oil and gas sector, including Parsley Energy in its $2.8 billion acquisition of Double Eagle’s Permian Basin holdings. Lee described the deal as “very unique,” given the intricate web of precedents and design plans for the acreage.
Looking ahead, Lee anticipates more development of properties and fewer lease flips; the adoption of an “energy mix” that includes renewables and fossil fuels; and a growing emphasis on increasing pipeline capacity.
