Bracewell's Paul Shechtman spoke with the New York Daily News' Stephen Rex Brown regarding Michael Avenatti's upcoming extortion trial.
He said defense lawyers are following the case closely, and that the case was about the limitations of settlements as well as about Avenatti himself.
“The most interesting question is where is Geragos in all of this? Trying Avenatti without Geragos, either as a prosecution witness or defense witness, is like Hamlet without the prince,” Shechtman said. “He’s in the room. Either he’s an equal participant or he walks away at a critical point.”
