Left, right switch sides when it comes to trusting judges

Bracewell’s Paul Shechtman talked with Yancey Roy of Newsday on the shift in perception of judicial discretion along political lines. The article asserts that this change may have to do with which party is in power. 

“Discretion or lack thereof is a familiar theme in criminal justice procedure,” said Paul Shechtman, “At bottom, the concern usually is one actor gains power and one loses it.”
