Bracewell Represented Castleton Commodities International in Strategic Equity Investment by Tokyo Gas America

HOUSTON – Bracewell LLP represented Castleton Commodities International LLC (CCI) in an equity investment by Tokyo Gas America Ltd. in CCI’s subsidiary, Castleton Resources LLC, which owns upstream assets in East Texas.

In November 2016, CCI announced the purchase of Carthage upstream and midstream assets in East Texas from subsidiaries of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for over $1 billion. CCI subsequently combined the acquired assets with its existing East Texas upstream assets under a newly formed subsidiary, Castleton Resources LLC. Castleton Resources LLC is focused on the acquisition and development of oil and gas assets in the East Texas/Louisiana region with a specific focus on unconventional Haynesville assets.

CCI executive personnel involved in this transaction included:

Steven M. Bunkin, executive vice president and general counsel of Castleton Commodities International LLC; Brad Honeycutt, senior vice president and general counsel of Castleton Resources LLC; Craig Jarchow, president and chief executive officer of Castleton Resources LLC; and Doug De Filippi, senior vice president and head of business development of Castleton Resources LLC.
