Bracewell Partner Warren Harris Honored with Houston Bar Association President’s Award

HOUSTON Bracewell LLP Partner Warren W. Harris is the recipient of a Houston Bar Association President’s Award. He was honored at the HBA Annual Dinner on May 19, 2016.

Harris was honored for his contribution to the Teach Texas program. In its inaugural year, Teach Texas reached nearly 10,000 Houston-area students. The program recruited judges, attorneys and Houston area school districts to participate in a judicial civics and court history project organized by the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. Using the book, “Taming Texas: How Law and Order Came to the Lone Star State”, the project focused on 7th grade Texas history classes, with the judges and attorneys teaching students how the state’s court system fits into the larger picture of Texas history.

As head of Bracewell’s appellate practice, Harris has handled hundreds of appeals and original proceedings in the Texas Supreme Court, United States Supreme Court, and state and federal courts of appeals. The firm’s appellate practice group is recognized throughout Texas and nationally for its proven track record and wealth of experience in high-stakes commercial cases.
