The 2017 Annual Dinner & Community Vision Awards hosted by the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York was held at the Capitale in New York on April 6, 2017.
Bracewell LLP lawyers Matthew Ducharme, Salsabil Ahmed, Melissa A. Morgan, Joseph Gracely, Charles M. Lupica, Jessica M. Monastra and Grace E. Condro attended LeGaL’s annual event, which is one of the New York area’s largest gatherings of LGBT legal professionals and friends.
The event supports the charitable and educational activities of the LeGaL Foundation, including its pro bono legal clinics serving hundreds of visitors annually; LGBT Law Notes, LeGaL’s comprehensive monthly publication covering the latest judicial and legislative developments affecting the LGBT community; the online LGBT Legal Resource Center; LeGaL’s law student judicial fellowship program; and a host of additional activities benefiting the LGBT legal community and the public.
At the annual dinner, which draws the support of the small and large law firm community, as well as corporations and individual contributors, LeGaL presents its Community Vision Awards to honor individuals or organizations with a distinguished record of service to the LGBT community, including a sustained commitment to achieving equal rights for all members of our community. The Community Vision Award Recipients for this year included:
- Matt Coles – UC Hastings College of Law Professor and former ACLU LGBT & AIDS Project Director
