HOUSTON – Bracewell represented Southern Waste Systems/Sun Recycling (SWS), a leading provider of waste services in south Florida, on the antitrust aspects of the acquisition of certain of SWS’s business assets by Waste Management Inc. of Florida, following antitrust clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Under the transaction terms, Houston-based Waste Management acquired operations and assets at 12 SWS facilities located in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties of Florida. The acquired assets include residential, commercial, and industrial solid waste collection, processing/recycling and transfer operations, equipment, vehicles, real estate, and customer agreements.
