Bracewell Advises Etablissements Maurel et Prom in Offshore Angola Acquisition
London — Bracewell (UK) LLP represented Etablissements Maurel et Prom (M&P) in its acquisition of interests in Blocks 3/05 and 3/05A offshore Angola from a Mitsubishi subsidiary. The target assets are two producing and development blocks in shallow water offshore Angola that are operated by Angola’s national oil company.
The transaction is a country-entry for M&P and the first upstream M&A deal completed following the recent regulatory reforms in Angola, including the establishment of a new National Oil and Gas Agency.
Bracewell is currently advising other international oil and gas companies on upstream M&A activity in Angola.
