Bracewell Adds Health Pro in San Antonio

Partner Carrie Douglas spoke with Law360 about joining Bracewell and what impressed her the most about the firm.

“I’m pinching myself [being here],” Douglas said. “If you had asked me in 2002 [while in law school], where did I want to work the rest of my career, it would have been here. I never thought I’d get to walk these hallowed halls. It is such an honor and a joy.”

She said she has long been impressed by Bracewell’s health care practice and was even more impressed after meetings with Wilson G. Jones, chair of Bracewell’s health care and life sciences practice, and his team.

“They’re really a dynamic health care group and I was excited to find another home that really embraced this health care world in the manner that they do,” she said. “To me, one of the biggest draws was finding other like-minded people who enjoy this payor world. This is such a weird, strange community so to find other folks who enjoy being on this side of the equation is exciting. It’s so dang exciting to get to be in this position and to get to join such a wonderful team doing similar work to what I’m doing.”

Douglas, the daughter of a physician, earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.
