Bracewell’s W. Stephen Benesh Elected as President-Elect of the State Bar of Texas

AUSTIN – Bracewell LLP partner W. Stephen Benesh has been elected as President-Elect of the State Bar of Texas for 2023-2024. Benesh will be sworn in as President-Elect on June 22, 2023, during the State Bar’s Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. He will serve as President of the State Bar from June 2024 to June 2025.

Benesh, who has spent his entire 36-year legal career with Bracewell, served on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors from 2008-2011 and chaired the State Bar’s Annual Meeting in 2014, for which he received a Presidential Citation. He has also served on the Texas Bar Foundation’s Board of Trustees since 2017 and currently serves as its Chair-Elect. In addition, Benesh has been a member of the Austin Bar Association for over 20 years, serving as its President in 2006-2007 and as Chair of the Austin Bar Foundation in 2007-08. He has twice received the Austin Bar Association President’s Award for Outstanding Service.
