Bracewell Advises Venoco, Inc. in Chapter 11 Filing

NEW YORK Bracewell LLP acted as legal advisor to Venoco, Inc. in the agreement reached today with Venoco’s secured creditors and, to facilitate the restructuring under the agreement, its voluntary bankruptcy filing in Delaware under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Venoco is an independent energy company headquartered in Denver, and primarily focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and natural gas properties.   For more than 20 years, Venoco has operated in California where it produces oil and natural gas from some of the largest oil fields in the country.
