Bracewell Advises Entergy Louisiana in Build-and-Sale Agreement with Calpine Corporation Subsidiary

HOUSTON – Bracewell LLP is advising Entergy Louisiana LLC (Entergy Louisiana), a wholly owned subsidiary of Entergy Corporation, in a build-and-sale agreement to acquire the Washington Parish Energy Center, a 361 MW natural gas-fueled electrical generation plant in Bogalusa, Louisiana, from Washington Parish Energy Center One, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calpine Corporation (Calpine). According to terms of the deal, Calpine will build the project over the next four years and Entergy Louisiana will purchase the plant upon completion.

The transaction is expected to close in 2021.
