Bracewell Served as Energy and Regulatory Counsel to the Ad Hoc Committee of Lenders in ExGen Texas Power’s Restructuring

WASHINGTON, DC – Bracewell LLP served as energy and regulatory counsel to the ad hoc committee of lenders to ExGen Texas Power, LLC (ExGen), owner of four independent natural gas-fired generators in Texas, in ExGen’s restructuring. Under the restructuring plan, the lenders took equity shares in a newly formed company, TexGen Power LLC, which fully owns ExGen.

Bracewell advised the lenders on federal and state regulatory, environmental and intellectual property matters. The firm also helped negotiate energy management agreements, as well as operations and maintenance agreements. TexGen Power LLC has engaged Bracewell to work on various ongoing matters.

ExGen’s emergence from bankruptcy was confirmed on April 17, 2018.
