Bracewell Advised Impact Oil and Gas on Farm-outs to Total in Namibia and South Africa

LONDON Bracewell LLP has advised Impact Oil and Gas Ltd (Impact) on the farm-out to subsidiaries of Total S.A. (Total) of a 70 percent interest in Block 2913B, offshore Namibia and 77.78 percent of Impact’s interest in Orange Basin Deep TCP in South Africa. Both are deepwater exploration blocks. The farm-out of Block 2913B is complete and the farm-out of the Orange Basin TCP awaits government approvals.

Commenting on the transaction, Ben James, who led the transaction for Bracewell, said “We are delighted to continue to advise Impact on the execution of its strategy to partner with major oil companies across its blocks in Africa. Total is now the fourth oil major to join the Impact portfolio. We wish Total and Impact, together with NAMCOR in Block 2913B, every success in the exploration of these Blocks.”
