HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP’s trademark practice has been recognized by World Trademark Review 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals 2014. The firm’s Texas and Washington trademark groups were ranked in the Bronze category.
Individually, Austin-based Partner Ed Cavazos was ranked as an individual in the Texas Bronze category; Seattle-based Partner Erin Hennessy was recognized in the Washington rankings; and New York-based Partner Mark Mutterperl was ranked in the New York: Enforcement and Litigation Silver category.
Bracewell’s Texas trademark practice was ranked by the WTR 1000 in part because of its “critical litigation,” with Cavazos being regarded as “practical and perceptive.”
The firm’s Washington practice was noted as demonstrating “exceptional skill on all trademark issues, from clearance and prosecution to policing and disputes,” and Hennessy specifically was lauded as “highly knowledgeable” and as “a stand-out attorney whose solid, practical strategies have proved invaluable.”
Mutterperl was lauded by the WTR1000 as an “intelligent and effective contentious specialist” who “wins worldwide accolades for his anti-counterfeiting and enforcement achievements,” and he was also listed nationally as one of the top 10 attorneys for Anti-Counterfeiting.
To assess the trademark market, World Trademark Review conducted telephone interviews and exchanged correspondence over a four-month period with hundreds of lawyers, attorneys and their clients involved with trademarks. Individuals qualify for inclusion in the WTR 1000 upon receiving sufficient positive feedback from market sources with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate.
